Location: Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

Built-up Area: approx. 12,000 sq ft

Scope: Turnkey project — architecture, construction, interiors and landscape integration

Materials: timber structure, natural Balinese stone and natural fibres

Design Approach: built around existing two-hundred-year-old trees with elevated structures to preserve the forest landscape

Set within a dense forest landscape in Ubud, the house was designed around a grove of nearly two-hundred-year-old trees, all carefully preserved during construction. Elevated on stilts, the timber structure settles lightly into the terrain while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding forest.

Natural Balinese stone anchors the pool and exterior elements, while open living spaces embrace the fresh mountain air. Reflecting Ubud’s tranquil atmosphere, the house incorporates spaces for meditation, music, massage, and quiet gathering. Surrounded by forest and nearby rice fields, the design encourages a slow, contemplative way of living connected to nature.
